The vivo X Fold2 was expected to be released this month, and the official release date was announced today – April 20. That’s also when we’ll see the vivo X Flip, the company’s first clamshell foldable, and the new vivo Pad 2 tablet.

According to Huang Tao, VP of vivo, the event in China would focus entirely on flagship performance and large screens. Teasers hinted at some form of “3D imaging technology,” which we presume will be comparable to what ZTE demonstrated with its ZTE nubia Pad 3D at MWC back in February.

The 8.03″ foldable E6 AMOLED on the inside and the 6.53″ E6 AMOLED on the outside/cover of the vivo X Fold2 are expected to be present. Underneath each will be a fingerprint scanner, and the computing power will be provided by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU.

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip will power the X Flip, according to rumors, and it will pack a 32MP selfie camera inside a punch hole. A 50MP shooter with a Sony IMX866 sensor, Zeiss T* coating, and OIS should be the primary camera on the rear.

The vivo Pad 2 is projected to be a larger version of the vivo Pad, with a 12.1″ LCD and a strong Dimensity 9000 chipset. According to reports, it will contain a gigantic 10,000 mAh cell, which could improve battery life significantly.

Pricing and availability for the Chinese market will also be revealed at the event, but no mention of the international scene is expected. We even doubt that any of these phones will leave the country, but we would love to be proven wrong.
