DESCRIPTION:
The app store offers what seems like a limitless number of games, and the selection is always expanding. Several game genres, pricing ranges, and use cases are available. These three games I’m going to discuss, which I’ve played on both my iPhone and my iPad Pro, have taken up at least 100 hours of my time, if not more. Hence, they are definitely worthwhile a try if you’re an iOS or iPadOS user seeking for some amazing games to enjoy.
BEFORE WE START
I have discovered that these more “casual” games have quenched my want to play video games in any way, despite not having a lot of time to devote to console gaming. None of these games truly need you to sit down and play them with a console controller, but I still find myself playing them for hours on end.
1. MARVEL STRIKE FORCE
This could be my all-time favourite iPhone game if there was an hour counter for it. I wouldn’t be shocked if you told me that I have played this game for more than 1000 hours.
You may put together your own squad of Marvel superheroes and bad guys in the turn-based RPG game Marvel Strike Force. The gameplay will be pretty familiar to you if you’ve played anything like Final Fantasy or even Pokemon. You take five of your strongest and greatest characters, engage in quests, and even compete with other players. Around 100 Marvel characters, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Wolverine, may be found in the game, and more are continually being added. Your characters may be enhanced, modified, levelled up, and equipped with things. The visuals and animations in the game are excellent, and it offers both PvE and PvP modes.
Marvel Strike Force’s lack of a true conclusion is one of its strongest features. The goal is to continuously level up your characters and your squad as a whole to finally reach the top of various leaderboards. Give this a go if you enjoy the Marvel world, enjoy RPG-based games, and want to play a game that is supposedly “unbeatable”!
2. RETRO BOWL
I’m a major lover of American football. I enjoy both watching and actively participating in sports, and I have always enjoyed playing console games like Madden. I enjoy taking a bad club and improving them so they can eventually win the Super Bowl. But I’ve never found the iOS Madden version to be enjoyable; I see it more as a way to make money by charging for the privilege of creating teams. There isn’t a true “be a player” or “season” mode, and I like that. Hence, when I discovered Retro Bowl two years ago, I was in love at first sight.
This game transports you to a time of pixelated visuals and straightforward gameplay. You take on the role of the head coach of a football team, and your goal is to guide your squad to victory by selecting the best plays and making wise strategic decisions. It is incredibly simple to use and simple to learn how to play.
The components that make season mode enjoyable are all there in this game, despite the fact that the visuals are diluted and in a vintage style. You can utilise real NFL clubs, select players, sign free agents, hire coaches, keep stats, earn league MVP, play an entire 18-week season, and take home the RetroBowl (their version of the Superbowl).
RETRO BOWL COMMUNITY
The game has a crazy online community and is highly addicting. I participate in some of the Reddit communities that have established their own online leagues. Fans and users have discovered methods to still establish leagues even if there isn’t a true internet component to the game itself, which is fantastic to see.
Do this if you’re an NFL fan and want to manage and play for your favourite club. You can see how many seasons I’ve played by looking at the graphic below, which shows how many hours I’ve spent playing this game. While it is free to download, it only costs $0.99 to permanently access all the features. Other payments are not required.
3. CASTE CRUMBLE
For me, this is the most recent and informal of the three games. On the way to work, I prefer to play a one-handed, vertically oriented casual game. This has been my new go-to whenever I have ten minutes to kill.
I’m reminded of Angry Birds by the gameplay. The goal is to destroy castles with the provided tools, such as TNT, cannon rounds, and more. This appeals to me since it is highly fascinating and has excellent visuals and music effects. Also, you receive excellent haptic sensation from the phone when the bricks and wood are toppling over as the castles collapse.
It will take some time to complete because there are four kingdoms to take down, each with over 150 levels. It gets harder as the stages go on since the castles are bigger and have more protection, while your weapons get weaker and have less potency. This game is ideal to play during a 10–20 minute train trip or while waiting at the doctor’s office. It should be noted that this game is exclusive to Apple Arcade.
WRAP-UP
So, Marvel Strike Force, Retro Bowl, and Castle Crumble are three games that you should certainly check out if you’re seeking for some amazing games to play on your iOS device. Each game provides something distinctive and captivating, and playing them all is a tonne of fun. Retro Bowl would be my top selection if I had to suggest one (even if you don’t care about football!).
What do you consider these games to be? Do you have any games you’d recommend I try? What iOS game do you think you’ve played the most overall? Let’s talk about this in the remarks!
