Yesterday, rumours circulated that Oppo and OnePlus were exiting important European countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, and France.
OnePlus representatives immediately denied the rumor, and Oppo followed suit, giving formal statements about their businesses’ commitment to European markets.
According to OnePlus Global PR Manager James Patterson,
OnePlus will not exit from Europe and the UK and maintains stable operations in local markets. OnePlus will continue to invest in Europe and provide more innovative product and solutions to its users.
According to an Oppo EU spokesperson, the business has big plans for 2023 and is dedicated to all current European regions.
We had a great start in 2023 with the successful launches of several products in Europe and have a line-up of upcoming products for the rest of the year. As always, Oppo will continue to provide more innovative products and the best-in-class service for users moving forward.
This one’s phrasing is a little perplexing, as Oppo only mentions its plans for this year rather than stating its long-term promises to Europe. Or we could be reading too much into it – we’ll find out soon enough.
OnePlus recently released its OnePlus 11 flagship, which is a well-rounded phone with few flaws. The Oppo Find X6 Pro, which has “three main cameras,” was unveiled last week but will not be available outside of China, leaving the Find N2 Flip as the only flagship-tier Oppo smartphone in Europe.
