The moniker of vivo’s forthcoming first foray into the flip-style foldable space has been revealed today, thanks to the device getting Google Play certification. The phone will be known as the vivo X Flip, which will come as no surprise to anyone.
In vivo’s naming reasoning, it makes perfect sense, because the X Fold is the company’s other series of foldables, and the X Flip will compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip4 and Oppo’s Find N2 Flip. If you want to avoid the term “flip” in the moniker of such devices, it appears that you’ll have to go with Motorola, as everyone else is being rather flippant.
In any case, the vivo X Flip was recently discovered in the Geekbench web database, sporting a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and 12GB of RAM. According to a new 3C certification, it will enable 44W rapid charging.
The phone will reportedly have a 6.8-inch FHD+ 120 Hz internal screen, a 50 MP primary camera, a 12 MP ultrawide camera, and a 4,400 mAh battery. It is expected to become formal in China sometime in April.
