The Honor Magic5 Pro reaches our office and is added to the queue for review after making its debut at Mobile World Congress at the beginning of this week.
So let’s start with an unboxing and then speak briefly about this capable smartphone. The Magic5 Pro comes with a cover, a 66W charger, and a cable from Honor. The Meadow Green one is the one we’re in.

The Honor Magic5 Pro is a visually appealing gadget. Its front glass has rounded edges that taper at the sides. It gives the phone a sleek, curvy appearance and feel.
The panel then slightly rises to meet the camera island on the back, forming a subtle bulge that draws attention. Another texture on the rear will annoy some people while pleasing others.
A stunning 6.81-inch 1312x2848px AMOLED display with a variable refresh rate of 120Hz, 1800 nits of peak brightness, and a dual punch-hole on the front of the Magic5 Pro houses a 12MP ultrawide selfie camera and a ToF 3D sensor for biometric authentication and depth sensing.

Honor takes the quality of the Magic5 Pro’s camera seriously. It has a 50MP 23mm primary camera with a unique 1/1.12-inch sensor as standard. Large 1.4 m pre-binned images are present. After binning at 12MP, they grow to 2.8 m, which is not all that different from the 3.2 m binned pixels of a 1 inch-type camera.
Two more 50MP cameras are available: a 13mm ultrawide camera with autofocus and a 2.5 centimetre macro lens, as well as a 90mm periscope telephoto camera with a 100x digital zoom.
The Magic5 Pro is an excellent smartphone camera. Even DxOMark’s smartphone scores gave it first place.
