DESCRIPTION:
PepperTech has so far displayed first-look images of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro. Now that we have access to CAD models for the iPhone 15 Plus, Ian Zelbo, our resident 3D graphics wizard, has created some unique visuals showcasing the new gadget.
THIS IS THE IPHONE 15 PLUS
As we’ve previously said, in order to be ready for the release of a new iPhone, Apple provides supply chain partners with CAD files, such as the ones upon which these models are based. While having erroneous ones would be costly for Apple’s partners, these sorts of files are extremely accurate to the final gadget in terms of both size and design.
According to our findings on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, the iPhone 15 Plus renderings seen here mostly confirm our expectations. The new USB-C connection, which will ultimately take the place of Lightning for charging and data transfer, is visible on the device’s bottom.
The Dynamic Island will also be used by the iPhone 15 Plus. As a result, the notch will no longer be a “feature” of any current-model iPhone and will instead be a standard feature of Apple’s entire iPhone 15 series. With the iPhone 15 Plus compared to the iPhone 14 Plus, the bezels are also thinner.
MOREOVER, DOCUMENTS SEEN BY PEPPERTECH ATTEST TO THE PRECISE MEASUREMENTS OF THE IPHONE 15 PLUS, WHICH ARE:
- 160.87 mm tall
- 77.76 mm wide
- 7.81 mm thick
BELOW ARE THE MEASUREMENTS OF THE IPHONE 14 PLUS FOR COMPARISON’S SAKE:
- 160.84 mm tall
- 78.07 mm wide
- 7.79 mm thick
You can see that compared to the iPhone 14 Plus, the iPhone 15 Plus is only a little bit taller, narrower, and thicker. The iPhone 15 Plus also has a bigger camera bump than the model it replaces.
The iPhone 15 Plus uses a redesigned body design with gently softened corners, much like the rest of the iPhone 15 family. As a result, there is a less jarring transition from the front to the rear of the device.
Apple is continuing to use this form factor in the iPhone range despite the fact that it has plainly not sold as well as the corporation had hoped. It remains to be seen if improvements like USB-C and the Dynamic Island would be sufficient to persuade them to purchase the iPhone 15 Plus. How do you feel? Please tell us in the comments.
