Even though Apple’s iPhone 15 won’t be unveiled for several months, we have some thrilling news to share with you today. We were able to acquire 3D CAD files for the iPhone 15, which show some of the design changes and features that Apple is considering for its next-generation smartphone, just a week after we published exclusive renders of the iPhone 15 Pro based on CAD files. The stunning pictures you see below were created from these CADs by Renderer Extraordinaire Ian Zelbo.
The absence of the notch in favour of a Dynamic Island on the iPhone 15 is one of the most obvious changes. The front camera and Face ID sensors are concealed by an oval-shaped cutout at the top of the screen, a feature that was first offered on the iPhone 14 Pro versions last year.
Given that it is doubtful that Apple would decide to put out-of-date technology on the larger size of their newest flagship phones, The Dynamic Island appears to be making its way to all 4 iPhone models.

We also noticed that the iPhone 15 will eventually switch to using USB-Type C as its charging port in the CAD files. As USB-C is more adaptable and interoperable than Lightning, this is a request that many users have had for a long time. Lightning cannot handle USB-higher C’s data transfer and charging speeds.
The traditional dual camera arrangement for the standard iPhone does appear to be retained by Apple. The Pro model iPhones still appear to be the only ones with the third sensor and LiDAR.

Apple has long used USB-C on its MacBooks and iPads, but up until this point, it has not made the transition to USB-C on its iPhones. Apple’s desire to adhere to new rules in Europe that demand smartphone manufacturers use a uniform charger standard across all devices is one potential explanation for this shift.
Additionally, according to the CAD files, the iPhone 15 will have a new display size of 6.2 inches, which is marginally bigger than the majority of current base model iPhones—with the obvious exception of the iPhone 14 Plus and 14 Pro Max. Although the display resolution and refresh rate are currently unclear, we anticipate that they will be comparable to those of the iPhone 14 models.

Capacitive buttons, which were rumoured to be heading to some iPhone models this year, are one item we found missing from the CAD files. The iPhone 15 still has physical buttons, just like every prior iPhone, so it appears that this year’s capacitive buttons are only available on the iPhone 15 Pro models.
These are some of the most significant modifications and additions that we learned about by studying the CAD data for the iPhone 15. These documents are obviously not final and subject to change prior to the formal launch later this year. These CADs do appear to support the recent Twitter disclosure of an unreliable alleged iPhone 15 model.
The price, hue, and specifications of the iPhone 15 are also unknown to us at this time, but we’ll let you know as soon as we learn more.
