Introduction:
The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro are Xiaomi’s newest flagship series, which was just unveiled. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, built on TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing process, powers both smartphones. Perhaps more significantly, the two devices sport a fresh design and a significant camera upgrade. They are currently only available in China, but we anticipate that they will soon be available everywhere.
Xiaomi 13 :
The display on the Xiaomi 13 is now slightly larger, measuring 6.36″ diagonally. It still has the same basic specifications as before, including 1080 x 2400px resolution, 120Hz refresh rate (no granular control is possible because it is not LTPO), support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG, as well as support for HDR10 and HDR10. The OLED screen, however, matches the 13 Pro’s peak and maximum brightness levels of 1,200 and 1,900 nits, respectively.

Camera :
On all of its cameras, Leica also customises the camera setup on the rear. 50 Megapixels, f/1.8, 23mm, 1/1.56″, 1.0 m, and Hyper OIS are the primary specifications. The Xiaomi 12’s primary shortcoming was the lack of a proper telephoto lens; more importantly, we now have one on board. A 10MP camera with OIS support, a Leica lens, an f/2.0 aperture, and a natural 3x zoom is available. The ultrawide now has a 12MP resolution and an f/2.2 lens, most likely without autofocus.

Battery :
A 4,500 mAh cell with 67W rapid wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging capabilities makes up the battery system.
Speakers :
Dolby Atmos stereo speakers with Dolby Head Tracking, an IR blaster, and IP68 protection against water and dust are also included in the Xiaomi 13’s bonus features.
Color Availability :
The vanilla model, in contrast to the Pro, opts for standard glass on its rear and is available in Black, Light Green, Light Blue, Gray, and White. Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, and other vibrant hues are also available, but only the Light Blue option is covered in leather, just like the Pre. The plain 13 sticks out with a glossy, flat side frame that has iPhone-like vibes, despite the fact that the back design of the camera island is identical to the 13 Pro’s.

Pricing :
The Xiaomi 13 in its base 8/128GB trim is CNY3,999 ($575), while the top 12/512GB edition is 4,999 ($720). The middle 8/256GB and 12/256GB units are CNY4,299 and CNY4,599, respectively.
Xiaomi 13 Pro :
The display of the Xiaomi 13 Pro stays essentially unchanged. We have the same device with nearly similar specifications as the Xiaomi 12 Pro, which had a 6.73-inch display. Given that it is an LTPO screen, these features include a 120Hz variable refresh rate, 1440 x 3200px resolution, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG, and 1920Hz DC dimming against aggressive PWM. Additionally, the monitor has an ambient colour temperature sensor that enables real-time colour temperature adjustment.

The maximal and peak brightness are the only improvements here. While the peak brightness boost during HDR video playback, for instance, can hit 1,900 nits, the new 13 Pro’s display can illuminate the entire surface area at 1,200 nits.
The aforementioned Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is paired with LPDDR5X memory and next-generation UFS 4.0 storage.
Camera :
As far as cameras go, the Xiaomi 13 Pro once again features a triple 50MP setup on the back, but with notable upgrades. The famous 1-inch Sony IMX989, 1.6µm sensor from the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is now paired with a Leica-branded lens with an f/1.9 aperture and Hyper OIS.

A significant improvement is also made to the telephoto lens. It has a similar 50MP resolution but an additional 3x magnification and a Leica Floating Lens element with a slightly smaller f/2.0 aperture. Its 10 cm near focusing distance is what makes it interesting.
The original 50MP, f/2.2, 14mm unit with macro support and AF is still available; the ultrawide doesn’t get any new fancy technology.
Battery :
A small increase in battery capacity to 4,820 mAh and Xiaomi’s Surge G1 chip enable safe 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The standard 10W backward wireless charging is also available. This is nothing new.
Speakers :
The latest addition to Xiaomi’s mainstream flagship line includes Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers with Dolby’s new head tracking feature, an IR blaster, and of course IP68 dust and water protection.
Color Availability :
Over the ceramic back, the device is available in four paint jobs: White, Black, Green, and some type of Light Blue, which is an iteration of leather rather than ceramic. With oval edges, the camera island is now roughly square-shaped.

Pricing :
The Xiaomi 13 Pro’s most affordable 8/128GB version is 4,999 ($720) with the roomiest 12/512GB costs CNY6,299 ($900). International availability and pricing will be announced later on.
