We haven’t seen a new Lenovo Legion phone in a long time – the Legion Y70 was unveiled in August of last year – and it appears that the reason for the lengthy hiatus is that Lenovo has discontinued its Legion gaming phone company.

A Lenovo representative verified the Legion phone lineup’s demise in a message to Android Authority, describing a broader “business transformation and gaming portfolio consolidation.”

Lenovo is discontinuing its Android-based Legion mobile gaming phones as part of a wider business transformation and gaming portfolio consolidation. As a leader in gaming devices and solutions, Lenovo is committed to advancing the gaming category across form factors, as well as focusing on where it can bring the most value to the global gaming community. – Lenovo spokesperson

The Asus ROG Phone lineup, Nubia Red Magic series, and Xiaomi’s Black Shark phones are the three major players in the market now that the Legion gaming phones have departed. One-of-a-kind features of the Lenovo Legion phones included side-mounted selfie cameras, dual charging outlets, and separate ventilation vents.
