DESCRIPTION:
OnePlus teased a brand-new set of headphones at the start of March. Several of us mistakenly believed it to be the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Lite when it was indeed the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Lite. It is not a negative thing, though. The new version of the headphones is significantly less expensive than the standard Pro!
After the launch, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Lite was offered for pre-orders in China. During the pre-order process, the price of the pair was CNY 750, and OnePlus began shipping them on March 13. The price of the headphones is CNY 800 ($116) without the pre-order discount, which is still less expensive than the standard Pro. Is it any better, though?
A DETAILED EXAMINATION OF THE ONEPLUS BUDS PRO 2 LITE
But what exactly is the “lite”? One thing is for sure, though: the Pro 2 Lite’s design is identical to that of the Pro 2. The buds do, however, come in a brand-new shade called white. Moreover, OnePlus opted not to provide green for this set of earbuds in light of the advent of a new colorway.
Also, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Lite have an IP55 classification, which means they can withstand sweat and rain. Moreover, the earbuds have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Also, the ANC of the buds can block 48dB of ambient noise, which is fantastic. As a result, the Pro 2 regular does the noise cancelling in a similar manner.
The Buds Pro 2 Lite also include wireless Hi-Res Audio streaming. Dynaudio and Hans Zimmer have optimised the earbuds’ audio performance. The headphones offer a specific 54ms reduced latency setting for gaming.
How long does the battery last? The Buds Pro 2 Lite’s battery life is equivalent to that of the Pro 2 model. The headphones’ maximum runtime is 9 hours, and the carrying case extends the battery life to 39 hours. The overall runtime is reduced to 25 hours when the ANC mode is enabled.
The connection is likewise unchanged from the originals. That is, LDHC 5.0 is supported by the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Lite. The buds may provide a bandwidth of up to 1Mbps using it. Despite the fact that the first Pro 2 did not have this function. But, the duo is expected to get the news.
WHAT IS MISPLACED?
What the catch is with the lesser price must be on your mind. With the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Lite, Qi wireless charging is not available. Moreover, the cheaper buds lack head tracking. But, even without that function, you may still use them to experience spatial audio.
Does that imply that the Buds Pro 2 Lite are more affordable than the original models? Yes, but only if you don’t care about head tracking and Qi wireless charging. Other than that, there is just a CNY 100 ($14.5) price difference between the new buds. Given such, it is difficult to conclude that the new buds are superior to the old ones.
Yet the main concern is whether OnePlus would release the Buds Pro 2 Lite on the world market. There are no formal details available. But, you should be aware that the originals occasionally go on sale. You may thus get the standard Pro 2 for less money than the Buds Pro 2 Lite if you can take use of them.
Therefore there is really no reason to wait for the buds to be on sale worldwide. Get the originals if you appreciate the features of the Buds Pro 2 Lite.
