Yesterday, Redmi from Xiaomi revealed a slew of new products, including the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+. Nevertheless, the sub-brand recently added two more phones to the Mi worldwide website, albeit very covertly, to make them public.
We’re talking about the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+, which are significantly less expensive than the others. The Redmi A2 features a 6.52-inch 720×1600 display, a MediaTek Helio G36 SoC with 2 or 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, an 8 MP back camera with a QVGA secondary lens beneath it, a 5 MP face snapper, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 10W charging support. A 10W adapter is included, and charging is done via microUSB, believe it or not.
The programme maintains the ‘barely believable’ motif. This phone is powered by Android 12. (Go Edition). So it’s certainly not a surprise that there’s no 5G connectivity built in. However, there is a 3.5mm earphone port.
The Redmi A2+ appears to be the same device as the Redmi A2, but with one additional feature: a biometric reader on the back. Both of these will undoubtedly be sold for extremely cheap wherever they are given. Both are available in light blue, light green, and black.
