iQOO will introduce the Neo 8 line in May. The iQOO Neo 8 Pro, one of the versions, is now described by the leaker. However, the Neo 7 series did have a Racing version with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in place of the Dimensity 9000+. The Neo 7 series did not have a Pro model.
The Dimensity 9200+, which has not yet been revealed, will run the Neo 8 Pro. The 9200+ will have an overclocked CPU and GPU compared to the original Dimensity 9200 if it’s anything like the Dimensity 9000+ (which was included in the Chinese edition of the Neo 7). (likely going from the current 3.05GHz prime core frequency to 3.2GHz).
According to reports, the Neo 8 series will include versions with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
According to the leaker, the phone will have a sizable 6.78″ monitor with a resolution of 1,260 by 2,800 pixels (20:9) and 2,160 Hz high frequency PWM dimming. The display will reportedly have curved edges. The Neo 7 had an FHD+ monitor, so this is a resolution upgrade.
The 5,000mAh battery in the iQOO Neo 8 Pro will support 120W rapid wired charging. The predecessor could charge from 0% to 100% in 25 minutes and had identical numbers.
In addition, DCS stated that there will be a second Neo 8 model, possibly the new Racing model, with a Snapdragon 8+ (presumably Gen 1) chipset.
